There are many benefits to planting fruit trees. You’ll have a beautiful addition to your lawn and garden, they produce delicious fruit for you to eat or sell, and they help the environment by providing habitat for birds and other animals. In this article, we will discuss how to plant a fruit tree in five easy steps!

Step One: Choose the appropriate tree for your region. There are many different types of fruit trees, and each type has a recommended climate they grow best in. For example, if you live in an area with hot summers and mild winters like Florida or California then a citrus tree would be ideal; however, if you live in an area with cold winters such as Michigan or Maine than apples might be more suitable to plant because apple trees do not require heat during their dormant season. Step Two: Make sure that you have the right type of soil. The ground needs to be loose and fertile enough that water can penetrate it easily, but compacted or rocky soils should be avoided.

Step Three: Mark where the tree will go before planting by digging a hole about twice as deep and wide as the root ball size so that there is room for any additional roots to grow if necessary.

Step Four: Carefully remove your fruit tree from its container with care not to damage too much of its delicate root system; gently place in prepared hole, making sure all roots are covered up with dirt- this step is very important! Applying mulch around trunk may help protect against frost heaving during winter months; however, avoid piling on top of base stem because it helps tree grow.
